The City of Taylor invites the Taylor community to participate in the City’s Christmas festivities on Saturday, Dec. 2. The Christmas Parade on Main Street will begin at 6 p.m. and will be immediately followed by a tree-lighting ceremony at Heritage Square sponsored by the Taylor Parks and Recreation Department.
The Christmas Parade will feature a lighted parade beginning at 6 p.m. The parade will begin on Main Street and 12th and continue on Main Street to Third Street, where it will turn west and end on Third Street and Vance Street. The parade will include vehicles from the City of Taylor Fire and Police Departments, as well as floats, automobiles, and other entries from the community. Parade registration is open now and will continue until 5 p.m. on Nov. 24. All Taylor residents, community organizations, and business owners are welcome to participate but must register in advance. There will be no on-site registration on the day of the event. Residents can fill out a registration form online or download a printable form on the City’s website at www.taylortx.gov.
The parade will be followed by a tree-lighting ceremony in Heritage Square. The ceremony will include live music, carols, and arts and crafts. There will also be an opportunity to visit and take pictures with Santa. The celebration is free and open to the public.
