The City Council of the City of Taylor met on Thursday, December 8, 2005, at City Hall, 400 Porter St., Taylor, Texas.  Mayor Donald Hill declared a quorum and called the meeting to order at 8:15 a.m. with the following present:

 

Council Member Rod Hortenstine                      City Manager, Frank Salvato

Council Member Ella Jez                                     City Clerk, Susan Brock

                                                                             City Attorney, Ted Hejl

                                                                            

 

CONSENT AGENDA

  1. ORDINANCE 2005-21 Naivar rezoning request.
  2. ORDINANCE 2005-22 Buzan rezoning request.
    Council member Hortenstine moved that the Consent Agenda be approved as presented and Council member Jez seconded the motion.  VOTE:  Three voted AYE.  Motion passed. 

REGULAR AGENDA – REVIEW/DISCUSS & CONSIDER/ACTION:

3.      CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARING AND INTRODUCE Ordinance 2005-23 establishing Reinvestment Zone #6.  (Bob VanTil)
Bob VanTil, Director of Community Development, provided preliminary background information regarding a request from Burrows Cabinets, Inc. for assistance in relocating their business to Taylor.  This ordinance would allow the city to consider granting tax abatement for the company which is currently in the process of purchasing a building located at 1353 W. 2nd Street.  Mr. Hejl read the caption to Ordinance 2005-23 and Mayor Hill declared the Public Hearing open.  No public comments were heard and Mayor Hill declared the Ordinance introduced.
