The City Council of the City of Taylor met on July 28, 2005, at City Hall, 400 Porter St., Taylor, Texas.  Mayor Don Hill declared a quorum and called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with the following present:

REGULAR AGENDA – REVIEW/DISCUSS & CONSIDER/ACTION:

1.         CONSIDER NEW FIRE DEPARTMENT DRIVER/OPERATOR POSITIONS AND PAY SCHEDULES.
Starla Hall, Director of Human Resources, provided salary proposals for the fire department with different pay increments for their review and discussion.  The creation of six driver/operator positions would present current employees an opportunity for advancement that is otherwise not available to them and a way to provide incentives for current employee retention.  No action was taken at this meeting.

2.         2005/2006 BUDGET WORKSHOP II. 
Mr. Salvato continued the previous discussions on budget projections and provided council with information on debt services, property tax projections, and sales tax revenue.  No action was taken on this item.



ADJOURN
