Council of the City of Taylor met on May 16, 2005, at City Hall, 400 Porter
St., Taylor, Texas. Mayor Don Hill
declared a quorum and called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with the
Council Member Ella Jez
Council Member Tim Mikeska
REGULAR AGENDA – REVIEW/DISCUSS & CONSIDER/ACTION:
PRESENT AWARD OF APPRECIATION TO COUNCIL MEMBER TIM MIKESKA
Mayor Hill presented an engraved plaque to Council member Mikeska in
honor of his years of service as the At Large representative on the City
Council from May 2002 to May 2005.
Council member Mikeska expressed his appreciation to the city staff,
fellow council members, and to the citizens of Taylor for their support and
encouragement during his tenure.
2. ADMINISTER OATH OF OFFICE TO UNOPPOSED AT
LARGE COUNCIL MEMBER CANDIDATE RODNEY HORTENSTINE.
Susan Brock, City Clerk, administered the Oath of Office to Rodney
Hortenstine and welcomed him as the newest member of the City Council.
3. ELECT A MAYOR
Attorney, Ted Hejl, called for nominations for Mayor of the City of
Taylor. Council member Jez made a
motion that we combine agenda items number 3 and 4 and elect Don Hill as Mayor
and John McDonald as Mayor Pro Tem.
Council member Gonzales seconded the motion. VOTE: Five voted
AYE. Motion passed.
4. ELECT A MAYOR PRO TEM.
This item was addressed at the same time
as agenda item number 3 and no additional action was needed.
With no further business, the council meeting was adjourned at 6:10p.m.
