The City Council of the City of
Taylor met on July 17, 2008 at City Hall, 400 Porter St., Taylor, Texas. Mayor Hortenstine declared a quorum and called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
with the following present:
Mayor Pro Tem Ella Jez Frank
Salvato, City Manager
Council Member Bernabe Gonzales Assistant City Manager, Jim Dunaway
Council Member Don Hill City Attorney, Ted Hejl
Council Member John McDonald City Clerk, Susan Brock
Chief Straub led the group in

No citizens came forward.
REGULAR AGENDA –
REVIEW/DISCUSS & CONSIDER/ACTION:
DECLARING EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO DRAINAGE CULVERT IN 1900 BLOCK OF WEST LAKE DRIVE.
Mr. Dunaway presented background information regarding the need for repairs to
a drainage culvert on West Lake Drive. Due to the urgency of the situation,
staff asked Halff and Associates to develop options to fix the structure.
Council Member Hill moved to select Option B to construct a box culvert using
city labor when possible with funds of $244,120 to come from the 2007/2008
Sales Tax revenue. Mayor Pro Tem Jez seconded the motion. VOTE: Five voted
AYE. Motion passed.
BUDGET WORKSHOP FOR FY 2008/2009.
Staff presented preliminary figures for Council to review for all
departments and revenue funds.
With no further business; Mayor Hortenstine adjourned the meeting at 8:35
