The City Council of the City of Taylor met for a special meeting on July 20, 2006, at City Hall, 400 Porter St. , Taylor, Texas.  Mayor Gonzales declared a quorum and called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. with the following present:

Council Member Rod Hortenstine                      Assistant City Manager, Jim Dunaway

Council Member Ella Jez                                     City Clerk, Susan Brock

Council Member John McDonald

REGULAR AGENDA – REVIEW/DISCUSS & CONSIDER/ACTION:

1.  CONSIDER RESOLUTION R06-17 IN SUPPORT OF CHANDLER ROAD AND CR366
     IMPROVEMENTS.
Mr. Bob vanTil presented a request to approve Resolution R06-17 in support of funding for Chandler Road and CR366.  The Williamson County Commission is currently in the process of developing a list of road and park projects for a possible bond election in November 2006.  The Williamson County Road Bond Advisory Committee was charged with putting a list together of project requests from cities within the County.  In June, Council submitted a list of top priorities for these projects to the Committee.  The original list included Chandler Road and improvements to CR366.  However, these roads are outside the Taylor City limits and are included in the County’s thoroughfare plan.  In order to pare down our list while still showing  support and a need for these improvements Council agreed to provide support in the form of a Resolution.  Council member Jez reminded those in attendance that the City will be making a formal presentation to the Williamson County Road Bond Advisory Committee that same night, July 24.

Mayor Pro Tem Hill moved to approve Resolution R06-17 and Council Member Jez seconded the motion.  VOTE:  Five voted AYE.  Motion passed.

 2.  WORKSHOP TO REVIEW AND CONSIDER FY 2006/2007 BUDGET.
Council met with staff to review the proposed 2006/2007 budget for the City.
