The City Council of the City of
Taylor met on May 30, 2006, at City Hall, 400 Porter St., Taylor, Texas. Mayor Gonzales declared a quorum and called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. with
the following present:
Council Member Rod Hortenstine City
Manager, Frank Salvato
Council Member Ella Jez Assistant City Manager, Jim Dunaway

Attorney, Ted Hejl
Clerk, Susan Brock

the meeting at 5:35 pm.)
REGULAR AGENDA – REVIEW/DISCUSS & CONSIDER/ACTION:
CONSIDER PUBLIC HEARING FOR
PHASE I ANNEXATION OF 1,111.81 ACRES OF LAND LOCATED IN WILLIAMSON COUNMTY, TEXAS, BEING 618.92 ACRES SITUATED IN THE JAMES C. EAVES SURVEY ABSTRACT NO. 213 AND 492.89
ACRES SITUATED IN THE SAMUEL PHARASS SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 496.
Mr. Bob VanTil presented a brief background and description of the
annexation process. He stated the property to be annexed was selected as a
result of the Comprehensive Plan and Strategic Plan previously adopted by
Council. Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open and asked for
comments from the audience. Mr. Bobby Naivar owns thirty-five acres in the
area being considered for annexation. He stated no specific objection to the
annexation process but requested Council to also look at property further along
Highway 79 for future annexations. One written comment was submitted to
Council earlier from Mr. Mark Groba expressing opposition to the annexation
of his property located at 13303 Highway 79.
With no further public comment, Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing
closed and the meeting was adjourned at 5:37 pm.
