Kid Fish is an annual fishing contest held each year for those ages 16 and younger.
The event is hosted by the Kid Fish Foundation and is a favorite annual event in Taylor.
Saturday, August 25
Bull Branch Park, 904 Dellinger Dr.
Set up and registration begin at 8 a.m.
Poles in the water at 9 a.m. - Noon The event is free and open to the public.
A limited amount of pre-rigged loaner poles and bait are provided if you don't have your own! Trophies are awarded in various age categories for the largest fishes caught.
Participation trophies and tee shirts can be purchased at the event.
Trophies are awarded to the 1st and 2nd place winners in each age group who catch the longest fish: 6 years old and younger, 7 - 11 years old and 12 - 16 years old.
Trophies are also given to the top fundraisers of donations for KIDFISH Foundation.
Winners qualify to participate in the state's annual KIDFISH Classic held in south Texas each year on Father's Day in mid-June.
NOTE: Please be aware that bad weather (thunder and lightning) on Saturday may result in a reschedule date. Watch the city's social media / emails for updates. However, a light rain will not delay the event. Please dress accordingly and wear sunscreen as needed.
