Mission Statement:
The Parks Division strives to provide the community a safe and pleasant leisure environment by enhancing quality of life standards and improving maintenance provisions.


Within the Taylor Park System:

  - There are 7 parks and open space
    areas totaling 311.97 acres
  - Tennis Courts (10)
  - Lighted baseball diamonds
  - Hike and bike trails
  - Fishing lakes
  - Playgrounds
  - Picnic Areas

Taylor also enjoys:

  - 9-hole public golf course
  - Miniature golf in Murphy Park
  - Water sports and camping at top-rated fishing lake 10 miles
    north of town (Lake Granger, 4,400 surface acres) and the San
    Gabriel River
  - Game bird hunting on 6,700 acres of Texas Parks and
    Wildlife Department land 10 miles from town
