Project Overview
Residents and those traveling through the city will soon have a much improved surface to drive on. As part of the road bond funds from Williamson County, Second Street is set to undergo a $16 million dollar upgrade. The project includes all of Second Street from just inside the loop on the west side all the way east to Main Street.
Phase I
The project is designed in two phases. Phase I consists of replacing old drainage and water pipes as well as adding new drainage features south of Second Street to alleviate existing flooding issues.
Phase II
Phase II includes paving the street and construction of curbs and sidewalks on Second Street. The goal of the project engineer is to keep at least one lane open in both directions for the entire project. While businesses and drivers can anticipate an occasional disruption of traffic, it should be temporary and infrequent.
