Downtown Streetscape
Taylor Old Town Streetscape Project
The Taylor Old Town Streetscape Project is funded by a Statewide Transportation Enhancement (TEA 21) grant from the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT).TXDOT awarded the construction bid to Knish Corporation in January, 2007.The $1.8 million project includes the reconstruction of sidewalks and curbs to provide easier and safer access, improve crosswalks, and add period lighting to brighten up downtown Taylor.Efforts also include bringing facilities up to meet standards of the American with Disabilities Act.
Public involvement is essential to the success of the project and downtown business and property owners are encouraged to maintain contact with City officials by subscribing to the automatic email service, attending public meetings, and staying abreast of any new sidewalk or road closures.Project Manager
