JANUARY
January 18:  Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance.  Parade and program.

All Year:  Moody Museum open for tours on Sundays from 2-5:00 pm.  

FEBRUARY

MARCH

APRIL

April 3 – Citywide Easter Egg Hunt

10:00 am. Children will be divided into two age groups, ages one through three; ages four though six.  One parent or adult must accompany each child. For more information e-mail Fred Switzer

April 16-17  Relay for Life® is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and to raise money to help the American Cancer Society save lives, help those who have been touched by cancer, and empower individuals to fight back against this disease. Begins at 5:00 pm at Taylor Memorial Field. 

 

April 24th – Citywide Spring Clean Up sponsored by the City of Taylor Public Works Department starts at 7:30 am – two drop off locations: 1424 N Main at Public Works Department and Doak Street ball fields.  Must show proof of city residency and fees begin at $5.00.

 

 

MAY
May through October-- Taylor Area Farmer's Market
Local area farmers sell fresh produce at corner of 5th and Main St every Monday and  Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 to 6pm. 

April 30-May 1st – Taylor Zest Fest (formerly Bloomin’ Festival). Live talent, food, arts & crafts, children’s activities in downtown Taylor beginning at 10:00 am.   

May 22nd – City of Taylor swimming pools, Murphy Park Aquatic Center and Robinson Pool, open for the summer.

 

May 31st – Memorial Day Salute sponsored by the City of Taylor at 10:00 am at Murphy Park. For more information contact: Fred Switzer

 

 

JUNE
June 12 -  Kid Fish®  fishing event for youngsters designed to educate and provide hands-on fishing experiences for children across America.  The City of Taylor and other local sponsors host the event from 9 am – noon at Bull Branch Park. JULY
July 3-4th – Taylor Independence Festival Day held at Murphy Park.  Tennis tournament.  TIF Fireworks at dark. Sponsored by the Taylor Jaycees.  View photos from 2007 Red, White and Blue Bike and Trike Parade.

AUGUST

Taylor International BBQ Cook off sponsored by the Taylor Jaycees at Murphy Park.

 

SEPTEMBER

September 11th9/11 Parade and Program Parade begins at 7:00 pm on Main Street; program at 7:30 pm at Heritage Square in downtown Taylor.  Sponsored by Taylor Firefighters Association.  Contact Matthew Whisenant for more information.

September 25, Saturday:  Airport Fly In

OCTOBER
October 16- City Wide Fall Clean up from 8-3pm.  More information.

October 30th, Saturday - Halloween Spooktacular  from 6-9 pm downtown and at Heritage Square.  For information contact Fred Switzer

DECEMBER

December 4 – Christmas Parade of Lights travel down Main Street beginning at 7 pm. Contact Taylor Chamber of Commerce
