1. Why has the City of Taylor included this project as part of the Bond Street Reconstruction Project?

The Taylor Streets Project uses funds from the 2019 Infrastructure Bond to improve roads, address drainage issues, replace water and wastewater lines, and repave driveways within the City’s right-of-way. Five streets will be reconstructed as part of the project. The project will improve mobility and safety along the following streets:

• W. Lake Drive (from Carlos Parker Blvd. to Old Georgetown Road) 
• 3rd Street Reconstruction Project (from Shaw Street to Davis Street) 
• Lynn Street (from W. Lake Drive to Gilmore Street) • Robinson Street (from Givens Lane to south of 4th Street) 
• Edmond/Mills/Cecilia Street (from 7th Street to McClain Street)

2. What improvements will the Taylor Streets Project provide?

By the end of the project, crews will complete a variety of improvements including: 

• Replace deteriorated pavement with new roadway 
• Address drainage issues, add curb and gutter and replace culverts 
• Improved utilities with new water line and waste water line 
• New sidewalk along the north side of W. 3rd Street and the west side of Robinson Street 
• Repave driveways within the City’s right-of-way

3. When does construction start?

Construction is beginning mid July on W. Lake Drive and on 3rd Street. Construction dates for Lynn, Robinson and Edmond Streets are being scheduled.

4. When will this project be complete?

Construction is anticipated to be complete by Summer 2021.

5. What are your working hours?

Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Work may occur occasionally Saturday.

6. Will access to my property be affected?

During construction, streets that are part of the Taylor Streets Project will remain open to local traffic. The street will be closed to through traffic, however the contractor will provide access for trash pick up, mail deliveries and special deliveries.

7. Will my property be affected?

Items located within right-of-way may need to be removed and relocated. . Existing conditions of driveways included in the project limits will be documented prior to repaving. Residents whose properties may be affected by construction will receive a notification no less than 48 hours before work begins.

8. Will my water service be interrupted?

If it is necessary to turn off your water service for any length of time, the Contractor will notify you 72 hours in advance with a date and time frame.

9. Where will I park?

Please avoid parking on the street during construction hours.
