[ARCHIVED] BRAZOS RIVER AUTHORITY ISSUES STAGE 1 DROUGHT WATCH FOR LAKE GRANGER

August 11, 2022 Drought Condition Map of Texas

The Brazos River Authority (BRA) has implemented Stage 1 Drought Watch Condition for Lake Granger. This includes Taylor, Jonah Water SUD and Lone Star Regional Water Authority. BRA is asking consumers to voluntarily reduce water usage by 5%.

The City will reduce or discontinue flushing of water mains and will reduce or discontinue irrigation of public landscaped lands. The City will comply with the voluntary water use restrictions for stage 1 when stage 1 is implemented.

Voluntary water use restrictions:

1. Water customers are requested to voluntarily limit the irrigation of landscaped areas to Sundays and Thursdays for customers with a street address ending in an even number, and Saturdays and Wednesdays for water customers with a street address ending in an odd number, and to irrigate landscapes only between the hours of midnight and 10 AM, and 8 PM to midnight on designated watering days.

2. All operations of the City of Taylor shall adhere to water use restrictions prescribed for Stage 1 of the Plan.

3. Water customers are requested to practice water conservation and to minimize or discontinue water use for non-essential purposes.
