The new City Council has been seated, and we welcome Mitchell Drummond, who was elected to serve District 2.
The Council is preparing the budget for Fiscal Year 2018/2019 which runs from October 1 through September 30. The budget will include funds for operations, debt service and the Capital Improvements Program. In addition, Council will determine the goals for the next several years during their Strategic Planning meetings in July.
The first budget workshop is on Thursday, June 21. A Capital Improvement Projects workshop is set for Thursday, July 12 at the regularly scheduled City Council meeting. That is followed by a second budget workshop at the Council meeting on Thursday, July 26.
Come August, staff will have information from the Williamson County Tax Assessor/Collector’s office that helps us determine the effective and rollback tax rates, based on property values. By September, the process is complete.
