Public Hearings set for Hazard Mitigation Action Plan


The public has three opportunities in May to comment on the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Action Plan that includes the cities of Taylor, Thrall and Lower Brushy Creek WSD on the following dates and times:

  • The City of Taylor will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Taylor City Hall, 400 Porter Street, Taylor, Texas 76574
  • The City of Thrall will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Thrall City Hall, 104 S Main St., Thrall, Texas 76578
  • Lower Brushy Creek WSD will hold a public hearing at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the City of Taylor Council Chambers, 400 Porter Street, Taylor, Texas 76574

The purpose of these meetings is to allow public comment and discuss the Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HMAP) to be submitted to the Texas Division of Emergency Management and ultimately to FEMA. This Draft HMAP will be finalized after public comment and contributions of the HMAP committee and then submitted to FEMA for comment and City Council Taylor/Thrall and Board of Directors of LBCWCID for adoption. 

The Draft HMAP will be available for public review at: Thrall City Hall, Taylor Library, Lower Brushy Creek District Office and on the City of Taylor website (below) on Monday, April 30, 2018.
