The City of Taylor twice a year holds a Community Cleanup Day in a selected neighborhood. Trash is picked up, limbs and other debris collected and an overall cleaning is done of streets, gutters and sidewalks. The tasks could not be done without the help of many volunteers, and Taylor residents are always willing to lend a hand.
The Development Services Department staff is currently registering those who want to volunteer for the event set for Saturday, October 21, from 8 a.m. to noon. The work site is Fourth Street, from Sloan to Howard Streets. All volunteers will be provided food and drinks to make it through the cleanup! Families, friends, church groups, clubs, civic groups -- all are welcome. Parents who bring children ages 10 and younger are asked to be responsible for working alongside their children for oversight.
If all the tasks are completed before noon, then the workday ends. To register yourself or others, please view the website on SignUpGenius.com. Volunteers may also register by phone -- call Carrie at 512-365-3863.
