The City of Taylor Police Department and Whataburger have joined forces to hold an informal time for citizens to meet and talk with officers over a cup of coffee. “Coffee With a Cop” is set for Wednesday, October 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 3510 N. Main St.
Whataburger manager Leo Murgia contacted TPD Chief Henry Fluck in August with the idea. The company has been a supporter of Coffee With a Cop in other communities, and wanted to begin the event in Taylor. At the same time, Chief Fluck was considering the same type of social hour, thus, the timing was right. Come by and get a free cup of coffee during the event, according to Murgia, and also purchase regular menu items.
“We look forward to ‘Coffee With a Cop’ being a quarterly event, and will change locations each quarter to spend time in various locations in the community.”
Officers will come and go throughout the 90-minute period, based on their duties, and Chief Fluck invites anyone to come to Whataburger to meet members of TPD.
