Improvements and repairs are underway at the Taylor Wastewater Treatment Plant, to the tune of $2.25 million. Funding from the water and sewer fees in part help cover repairs and the costs of providing water and sewer services to residents. In addition, crews are replacing old water lines, and repairs on the pump stations are due to be made.
For 2017-2018, the water rates will increase by 8 percent, while the sewer rates increase by 12 percent. This means the monthly minimum for water goes to $31.31 compared to $28.99, for buildings with a 5/8" x 3/4" meter size, typical for most residential homes. The per-gallon rate for the first 2,000 gallons of water is $3.18.
Sewer rates will increase from $25 to $28 monthly minimum charge for a 5/8" x 3/4" meter size, plus $6.71 per 1,000 gallons of water use. The new rates will appear on the bill that includes October 1, 2017, which will be prorated accordingly.
Billing dates are as follows. (NOTE: This chart shows the current dates, which differ from some utility customers' issues of Community Connection that was inserted into certain water bills. This chart shows all the corrected information. Those issues also incorrectly stated winter averaging; that will occur later in the year.)
