September 2017 marks the second year the City of Taylor conducts its “LEAD Taylor” program. The community-focused, collaborative monthly classes teach citizens about government operations, provides training in community planning and awareness, team building and effective communication. It is free to attend and spaces are limited. Interested persons should apply by September 15 to participate in the program. City Council continues work on the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Budget, which takes effect on October 1, 2017. Allocation decisions are made based on consideration of the city’s Three Pillars: Economic Vitality, Quality of LIfe and Transportation/Infrastructure. The final FY 2017-2018 budget will be available in late September to read on the city’s website at www.taylortx.gov/budget.
