In preparation of adopting updated building codes for the City of Taylor, the City will hold a Updated Building Code Workshop on Monday, Sept. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at the Taylor Public Library. During the workshop, we will introduce the proposed building codes and address any questions. 

The City will be adopting the 2018 family of building codes from the International Code Council. The City is currently using the 2009 family of building codes.

Codes to be adopted include:

• 2018 International Residential Code
• 2018 International Fire Code
• 2018 International Plumbing Code
• 2018 International Mechanical Code
• 2018 International Fuel Gas Code
• 2018 International Energy Conservation Code
• 2018 International Existing Building Code
• 2018 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code
• 2018 International Property Maintenance Code
• 2020 National Electrical Code

The adopting ordinance will have its first reading at the Sept. 23 Council meeting and a second reading at the Oct. 14 meeting.
