RESOLUTION NUMBER R06-5
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BY
AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF TAYLOR, TEXAS, (“TAYLOR”) AND THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY
ELECTIONS ADMINISTRATOR, (“ADMINISTRATOR”), TO SECURE ELECTION SERVICES FOR AN
ELECTION TO BE CONDUCTED ON MAY 13, 2006, AND AUTHORIZING THOSE MATTERS PROPER
AND NECESSARY THERETO.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF TAYLOR:
WHEREAS,
the City Council of the City of Taylor, Texas, approved by Resolution R06-4 a
municipal election to be held on May 13, 2006 for the purpose of electing two
council members, one from District 2 and one from District 3; and
WHEREAS,
the City Council of the City of Taylor, Texas, desires to enter into an
agreement with the Williamson County Elections Administrator to secure election
services for the election on May 13, 2006; and
WHEREAS,
the City of Taylor, Texas, further desires to approve and authorize all further
actions necessary to complete the transaction; and
WHEREAS,
the Election Services Contract provides for services pertaining to the City of Taylor Municipal Election.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAYLOR, TEXAS:
1.
The Election Services Contract for election services for the May 13,
2006 municipal election is accepted by the Taylor City Council.
2.
Further Resolved, the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed
to execute all instruments necessary and ancillary to the Election Services Contract
on behalf of the City and the City Clerk, as Chief Elections Officer is further
authorized to do any and all things proper and necessary to carry out the
intent of this Resolution.
