This year, the Taylor Community Cleanup will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. where we will focus on beautifying Taylor and building a sense of community pride in our neighborhoods. The location will encompass the West Martin Luther King Blvd. area including W. MLK to Symes St, from Doak St. to Dickey St. We will also be hosting an Arbor Day Community Service Project at Doak Street ball fields. We invite you to join us as we partner together to bring pride to our City. YOUR participation will help make this a successful community event!

The Taylor Community Cleanup event will entail volunteers visiting the W. MLK neighborhood to help out with any of the following:

  • Tree Trimming
  • Mowing
  • Debris Removal
  • General Cleanup

The City Council and staff are committed to uniting with Taylor residents to keep our neighborhoods clean and safe. Projects such as this help to address those issues and build upon a partnership model for our City. Through the partnership model, citizens and local government work together building solid relationships that help to solve problems like crime, city cleanliness and pride.

The City-Wide cleanup will also take place on Oct. 22 with two places designated as drop off locations for debris. 1200 Welch Street and 1424 N. Main Street will be open from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Proof of residency will be required (either a valid driver’s license or utility bill.)

If you have questions or concerns or would like additional information on the Taylor Community Cleanup or City-Wide cleanup, call City Hall at 512-352-3675.
