Impact Fees

Impact fees are a charge on new development to pay for the construction or expansion of capital improvements that are needed by and benefit new development.  Requiring an impact fee to provide adequate infrastructure is similar to meeting planning and zoning requirements for a particular project.

In 2007, Taylor adopted roadway impact fees under the requirements of Chapter 395 of the Texas Local Government Code. (Ordinance 2007-10).  The Code requires that the City update its fee program at least every five years.
