Message from the Fire Chief

Our department has a strong and lengthy heritage.  This proud lineage was forged in 1886 when 153 willing and dedicated citizens pulled together to create Taylor's first fire department.  Today that same pride lives on through the dedication and service of the men and women that serve this dynamic, vibrant and growing community.

The Taylor Fire Department provides not only fire suppression functions but also, EMS first response, rescue, fire prevention public education, fire investigation, hazardous materials response, wildland response and pre-fire mitigation services. We are also charged with emergency management oversight and duties.  The Taylor Fire Department strives to keep pace with emerging programs and methods, ensuring that we provide the best possible service to our citizens, business owners, and visitors.  We believe by working in partnership with other City departments, such as the Police Department, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, and EMS, we help create a community where residents and visitors can work, play, and live in a safe environment.

Our service motto is simple:  "Serving with Pride, Taking Ownership, Seeking Excellence, Making a Difference."

I invite you to stop by one of our fire stations for a tour or to simply seek answers to your questions.  If you see any of us out in the community, don't hesitate to say hi - we would love to visit with you.  You are always welcome to call or email me directly.
