The core Downtown area consists of a nine block area extending from Main Street on the west to 6th Street on the north, and from Elliott on the east to 3rd Street on the South. To mark the tenth anniversary of the Taylor Main Street Program, the City is in the process of updating the Downtown Master Plan completed in 2004. Using funds from the Tax Increment Financing District, the Design Workshop firm was contracted to facilitate this process and help chart the next ten to twenty years of redevelopment in this area.
The plan will focus on a number of aspects to enhance the community as a whole and an effort was made to gather community input early on. Now, the plan is nearly complete. The next public meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 9, at 6 pm in the Meeting Room of the Taylor Public Library.
