Main Street Hike and Bike Trail
The Main Street Hike and Bike is a shared use 10’ wide concrete trail to be constructed on the West side of Main Street connecting the North and South sides of Taylor through existing pedestrian facilities.
A public forum was held Sept. 28th to provide information on the project. Currently, the Texas Department of Transportation has a review scheduled for November and the advertisement for bids will happen in December with construction anticipated to being in March 2016.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Hike and Bike Trail
The TPWD is a shared use 10’ wide concrete recreational trail generally located between E. 5th Street and Robinson Park along Bull Branch Creek. The project will be partial renovation, partial new construction and will allow connection to the City’s existing pedestrian transportation system.
The Fair Streets project was an overlay project of City streets rated in “fair” condition. The overlay project provided a means to prevent streets rated “fair” from deteriorating and slipping into the “poor” category. There were 14.5 miles of road covered by this project.
All work has been completed and the City is currently processing closeout documents.
Construction is substantially complete. The City is working with the contractor on the closeout of this project. This project included waterline, sanitary sewer line and pavement construction.
Taylor Municipal Airport - Pavement Rehab and Hangar Project
The Taylor Municipal Airport Pavement Rehab and Hangar Project includes:
- Rehabilitation of runway, taxiway and t-hangar pavements
- Reconstruction of a portion of parallel Taxiway A
- Demolition of existing apron connecting taxiway
- Construction of a new apron connecting taxiway
- Construction of 12-unit t-hangar and associated hangar pavement Installation of chain link and wildlife perimeter fencing
- Construction of run up apron area for Runway 17
