Police Officer

Protects the City's residents and property by striving to promote voluntary compliance to laws and ordinances through the use of enforcement, public education and role modeling.
Testing Date:  November 21, 2014, 8:30 a.m. in the City Hall Auditorium, 400 Porter St., Taylor, TX.
Eligible candidates desiring to take this entrance examination must submit a completed examination packet and application. All applicants must meet the MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR POLICE OFFICER in order to be eligible to test with the department.

Examination Closing Date:  Completed application packet, authorization forms and other necessary documentation must be returned to the Human Resources Director by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2014.

Cemetery Equipment Operator I
Maintains cemetery grounds in a safe and effective manner. Duties include operating mowing equipment, heavy and light equipment and repairing, maintaining facilities and equipment.  Must be available to be on-call and work on weekends and holidays.

Cemetery Clerk
Assists with clerical duties in the cemetery, including, but not limited to, record keeping, bookkeeping, and answering phones.  Must be available to be on-call and work on weekends and holidays.

Library Aide
Assists the Library Director in library operations & circulation, including performing daily library functions and assisting the Library Director with reports, special programs, etc.  Position requires working evening and weekend hours.

Public Works Inspector
The City of Taylor is seeking qualified applicants for a Public Works Inspector.  This position will be overseeing awarded contracts and change orders on Capital Improvement Projects, inspecting construction and repair projects for compliance with various codes, regulations, and to assuring quality control.  Duties include frequent communication with supervisor, Engineering design professionals, read "Record Drawing/As Builds" plans (Blue Prints), City staff, residents, developers, contractors and requires some research.
