Notice of Civil Service Examination - Police Officer
The City of Taylor Police Department's mission is to provide the highest level of proactive and responsive service in partnership with neighborhoods and the entire community.  The Police Department is governed by the Local Government Code Civil Service Chapter 143.  All applicants must meet the MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR POLICE OFFICER in order to be eligible to test with the department.  Upon completion of the written test, an eligibility list is created based on the applicants test score and additional points for military service, if applicable.  A Physical Agility test will follow the written exam for those applicants passing the written examination.

Crew Leader I (Utility Maintenance)
The City of Taylor is seeking qualified applicants for a Crew Leader I in the Utility Maintenance Department.  This position will supervise a crew, and participate in troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all aspects of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems in a safe, effective, and efficient manner in order to insure public health and safety; while maintaining compliance with the Texas Commission Environmental Quality (TCEQ) rules and regulations. Must have ability to obtain a Class B CDL within three (3) months of employment.  Class D license in Water and a Class I license in Wastewater Collection.

Equipment Operator I
The City of Taylor is seeking a qualified applicant for an Equipment Operator I.  This position maintains City's Streets, Parks and Right of Ways in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.  Duties include: operating construction equipment, heavy machinery and repairing, maintaining facilities and equipment.  Maintenance of streets, parks, curb & gutter systems, storm sewer systems and street signage.  Must be available to work overtime and be "On Call" as assigned by supervisor.
