Assistant City Manager
The City of Taylor seeks an Assistant City Manager to work in the City Manager's Office.  Taylor is a home rule city and operators under the council-manager form of government with a Mayor and four Council Members.  The Assistant City Manager is under the supervision of the City Manager.  The City has an FY 2016-2017 budget of $24.5 million and employs 148.75 full-time employees. 
The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.  A master's degree is preferred.  Seven or more years of progressively responsible municipal government experience, including five years' experience at a department head level or higher, is required.  The salary range for this position is $105,000 and $117,000 DOQ.

Utility Maintenance Worker I
 
The City of Taylor is seeking a qualified applicant for a Utility Maintenance Worker I.  This position is responsible to repair and maintain the City's water distribution and wastewater collection systems in a safe, effective, and efficient manner in order to protect public health and safety; while ensuring compliance with the Texas Commission on Quality (TCEQ) rules and regulations.  This position is open until filled.

Athletic Field Technician (Sports Complex)
Performs turf maintenance, equipment operations and other tasks related to the preparation and maintenance of City athletic fields; coordinate and conduct work required to maintain athletic fields at Sports Complex and preventive maintenance of facilities including restrooms and concession stands and applicable equipment. Supports the Crew Leader in managing the day to day activities with the overall upkeep and maintenance of sports field, as well as additional facilities in the parks system, including pavilions, tennis/basketball courts and city pools. This position is open until filled.

Notice of Civil Service Examination - Police Officer
The City of Taylor seeks eligible candidates desiring to take the Police Officer entrance examination.  Please submit your completed application, authorization forms and other necessary documents to the City of Taylor Human Resource Department by Monday, August 21, 2017, 5:00 p.m..  Failure to return the application packet by the above date will make you ineligible to take the examination.  
The City of Taylor Police Department's mission is to provide the highest level of proactive and responsive service in partnership with neighborhoods and the entire community.  The Police Department is governed by the Local Government Code Civil Service Chapter 143.  All applicants must meet the MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR POLICE OFFICER in order to be eligible to test with the department.  Upon completion of the written test, an eligibility list is created based on the applicants test score and additional points for military service, if applicable.  A Physical Agility test will follow the written exam for those applicants passing the written examination.

The City of Taylor is seeking a qualified applicant for Grounds Operator I.  This position maintains City's Parks, Grounds and Right of Ways in a safe, effective manner.  Duties include: operating light equipment and operating mowing equipment.  Must be available to work overtime and be "On Call" as assigned by supervisor. Public Works Director
The City of Taylor, Texas, seeks a Public Works Director to direct, plan and provide leadership for services related to Engineering and Inspections, Streets and Drainage, Grounds Maintenance, Cemetery, Utility Construction, Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection/Treatment, and Solid Waste Collection.  Manages property and easement surveys and legal descriptions. Supervises the inspection of construction projects performed by contractors for compliance with plans, specifications, and City standards. Responsible for the review of development projects and the oversight of all public infrastructure improvements.
