City Elections


The City of Taylor is a "Council / City Manager" form of government. Council members are elected by the citizens and registered voters of Taylor. The City is divided into four Districts or Precincts and has one Council representative from each, as well as council member elected at large. Council terms are three years and staggered with elections held in May. The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem are elected every year from within the Council members themselves and serve a one year term in these positions.

May 9, 2015
The City of Taylor will be holding an election on May 9, 2015 to elect one council member for District 3.  Two candidate applications were received:  Brandt Rydell (incumbent) and Miguel Espitia, Jr.   District 2 Council Member Chris Gonzales received no opposition and is declared elected and will be sworn in when the election votes are canvassed after the election on May 9th.  Early voting is from April 27-May 5 at any voting center in Williamson County.  The Early Voting location in Taylor is at City Hall, 400 Porter Street.
