Isaac Turner joined the staff as City Manager on August 25, 2014. Mr. Turner has a combined 30 years of experience in municipal government with 18 years as a city manager. Prior to coming to Taylor, he served as the City Manager for Venice, Florida.
Mr. Turner holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Kansas State University and a Master's of Public Administration from the University of Kansas.
He is a member of the Texas Municipal League and the International City Management Association.
The City Manager’s Office handles the general administration of the City and executes the policies and objectives of the City Council. The City Manager is directly responsible to the Mayor and City Council and oversees the day-to-day operation of the City by coordinating all City Department activities and functions.
His primary charge is the day-to-day operation of the City through the coordination of all City Department activities and functions that include:
Continue to improve quality and accountability of all City operations.
Effectively implement and administer the goals and policies established by the City Council.
Continuously strive to provide effective, efficient and friendly customer service.
Advise City Council on reliable methods of responding to community needs.
Ensure responsible organizational and fiscal management.
